Welcome to: If Male Superhero Costumes were Designed Like Female Superhero Costumes!

Aaaaa I dunno. I got tired of guys having no idea why girls find female superhero’s costumes kinda sexist, so I, um, made this?

My main goals were: 1) Make it so the first thing you think of when you look at them is sex, whether you want to or not. 2) make it so that any male human who looks at this feels really uncomfortable. 3) make it funny, because, well, it’s kinda hilarious really.

Not trying to start a war here, just wanted to poke a bit of fun.

So, here you go menfolk, welcome to being a girl who likes comics.

Really what commentary do I need to add to this?

I do.

I get the point of bad art. Too many artists not understanding/caring about basic anatomy wind up outputting total crap. For women characters, their adbomens are way too small, their boob’s are so larger that they would throw out their backs in real life. For men, their shoulders and boobs are larger than their heads.

I get that this is about sex. Show enough skin, some bawdy posing, and it’s sexy – not the effect one neccesarily wants when fighting crime or saving the earth.

I do feel uncomfortable! I feel uncomfortable because you’ve either just removed all gay men from the dialog or made the assumtion that men — gay or straight or transgendered — are the same. For the record: we are not.

Good art, by the way. Should you ever venture into making a sexy-boy cape comic, it would probably do very well. I would certainly back a kickstarter project that wasn’t cis privileged if the art was this good.

I just wanted to say I’m sorry about that, that wasn’t what I was going for. The thing is I was thinking about gay & trans men too when I said that. You see I wanted to make men feel uncomfortable seeing this for the same reason I feel uncomfortable looking at overly sexualized women in comics/games: Not based on whether I’m attracted to them or not, but because they make me feel like my entire gender should just be there to be oggled at. It doesn’t happen a lot, but it happens enough. So i was trying to go for gender indignity here, not sexuality. Sorry I didn’t get that across (:>

I also get that not all men are the same so… yeah i guess I fucked up on that one too. Sorry!
